Introduction
The aim of the game is to manage a common cold the best way possible, from the point when you get infected until recovery. Its only with the help of the bodys own immune system that you can recover from a common cold. Antibiotics have no effect on viruses, and there is no other medicine that can cure a common cold, but you can yourself influence how you feel during the process. You can choose activities that steer your wellbeing meter either in a positive or a negative direction, both when you are well and when you are ill.
Every time you fall ill you are infected by a new cold virus that you have to overcome with the help of your immune defence. You become immune to each cold virus which you have recovered from, and this strengthens your immune system.
This is how you play
At the beginning of the game, you, as a player, will be able to create a game character by selecting hair colour, skin colour and clothes. When you have made your selections you will continue to the kindergarten/school where you may choose between different activities that are hidden in the room. You can also try to infect yourself by pulling cold viruses to your face.
In the kindergarten/the school
Look for the activities that are hidden in the room. You may, for example, try clicking on the easel, the rocking horse, the fish or the clock. Whatever you do at kindergarten/in school, you will sooner or later get a cold.
When you have fallen ill
When you have fallen ill, you may be able to influence your wellbeing even though you are ill, by making good or bad choices. You could, for example, drink a lot, which will make you feel slightly better but not well. You may also explore the different typical cold symptoms. To recover you need to help your immune system to win the fight against your illness.
The illness fight – help your champion – the immune system
When you have fallen ill your body takes over and you can follow the struggle between the nasty viruses and your hero – the immune system. You can help the immune system by moving a virus when it is being chased, or if you prefer to be a little mean, to help a virus to escape.
When you have recovered
When the fight is over, you are well again and move around at home. In the same way as before there are different activities hidden in the rooms, like jigsaw puzzles, secret boxes, games and so on. The wellbeing meter indicates when you do things which strengthen your body, help you to avoid falling ill, and to feel well.
Play outside
Moving around in the fresh air outdoors makes you healthier! In the balloon game you guide the balloons by clicking the mouse button and holding it down. Try to keep the balloons in the air!
Win the game and become immune
When you have conquered the three different types of viruses you have become immune to them and can’t fall ill again. If you want to have another go it is easy to create a new character and restart the game.
How the wellbeing meter works
The red side of the meter shows that you are ill or on your way to falling ill. The blue side shows that you are well. Even if you are ill the choice you make in the game can influence how you feel. Always strive to move to the blue side of the meter.
